Calvin's on duty today. He had to work last Sunday and next Sunday too... 3 consecutive Sundays in a row. :( Don't like... but bo bian. I had to do some work at home too. My annual plan's due in 1.5wks and it's not quite started yet! Damn..

It's a rainy weekend and I really didn't feel like going out to get food. So, using whatever I have at home, I cooked myself lunch. Nothing new at all! I must have cooked this like 4/5 times this year... Spicy Shrimps Aglio Olio Pasta again! It's getting yummier... haha... Love eating it! In fact, after I finished the plate of pasta, I felt I could eat some more of it! :p

See that ticker widget badge at the sidebar? Nicole used it when she's expecting Cheyenne. I wanted a countdown widget too when I found out I was expecting. But I tell you... I simply cannot find another one as pretty as the one Nicole used. So, now that Cheyenne's arrived, I'm gonna take over and use this widget. hehe... 155 days to go... sounds like a long time. :p

A couple of weeks ago when Calvin was on leave, he decided to give our home some new additions.

We've been wanting to get ourselves a coffee table. It's really not convenient and not conducive when you have guests and there's no coffee table in the hall. We saw something pretty decent in the Ikea catalogue and decided to get it. The coffee table seems to complete the hall. Now, we can have our drinks and snacks within reach when we glue our bums to the sofa and fix our eyes on the TV. :p

Oh, that beautiful butterfly candle holder was a wedding gift from my colleagues Natasha, Faylyn and Hazel. Fell in love with it the moment I opened the gift. Now I can display it prominently. (^__^)

We've also been searching for wall decals to decorate 小B's room. Our first choice was a zoo themed decal, and it's really really cute! But they don't deliver to Singapore... sad.. So, we settled for this just-as-beautiful decal, the lollipop garden. Daddy-to-be excitedly put it up with careful precision one fine day. I came home after work and was greeted with a brightly coloured room for 小B. So colourful it brings a smile to my face every time I step into the room. 小B, I'm sure you'd love it too!

YES!! It was announced at the National Day Rally that maternity leave will be extended to 16 weeks! It was supposed to take effect from Jan 2009, but after some "feedback", the effective date was brought forward to 17 August 2008. Either way, I'm in! My 小B's a January baby... :D

This move by the government has caused polarising views, as expected. While many (like me) welcomed it, there are also many others who felt that the employers will be the ones negatively affected by it. Some felt that more incentives should be given to the fathers. Some felt that while this is giving incentives to married couples to procreate, it is also depriving singles of time to look for their life partners.

Like Randy said, it's like a double-edged sword, cuts both ways. Well, every policy is such, isn't it? You can never gain 100% support and agreement. In any case, I'm happy about it. :)

I worked from home yesterday and when Calvin came home from his lunch date with his friends, he surprised me with this beautiful stalk of sunflower! (^__^) It's really nice to receive flowers from the husband once in a while for no reason at all. Thank you baby!! Love it!

And then, Xueting msn'ed me to tell me that we've got flowers from the Amex MSI clients! You see, both Xueting and I recently got promoted and so this is their way of congratulating us!! How sweet of them! When I got promoted the last time round, I was still in the other team and my Pizza Hut clients sent me flowers and a doggie soft toy! I was really moved by their thoughtfulness! They were the first to show me what nice and appreciative clients are like.

Today, XT and I got another surprise! Our other set of Amex clients sent us flowers too! I love the furry part of the arrangement. Made it look so heavenly! hehe...

We saw 小B in action today! Just before our turn to see Dr Ho, Calvin and I starting telling 小B say hello to us... We didn't get to see any movements the last time round, so we were really eager to see some today. 小B really listens to his/her parents! He/ She was kicking the whole time... (^__^) We were so excited to see our active baby move! What a wonderful feeling...

Dr Ho said that there's a bit of an indication of the gender, but he won't confirm it. We'll only get a confirmation in 4 weeks time when we have our detailed scan. Can't wait!!! hehe...

In just 2 weeks, I put on almost 1 kg!!!! Whoa! Must have been the 4 straight weeks of durian! No more durians from now on...

My bump is getting quite obvious now. People are starting to either fall right into deep sleep in the MRT when they see me, or the few nicer ones are starting to give up their seats for me.

As usual, Calvin had to work on National Day. I was feeling a little bored at home alone and had been thinking of baking. When I saw Sheena online this morning, I suggested a baking session at my place. Since Gor Gor has to work as well and the girls and Jie Jie had no plans today, they readily agreed! Yes!

Sheena wanted something chocolatey, so we're baked Chocolate Cupcakes. And since it's National Day, I decided the icing should be in red colour! Sarah helped sprinkled the white stars on the cupcakes while Sheena dozed off after drooling over the uniformed men on TV... hahahaha... We had such a good laugh over our soft spot for uniformed men.

It was fun spending National Day with you girls, while our uniformed men are at work, serving the nation! :p

We're into the 2nd trimester!! That should mean that the nausea and dizziness would be steering clear! Yippee!!

We've been calling our baby 小B as we haven't found out if we're expecting a boy or a girl. Can't wait to find out... 小B has grown about 3cm since 3 weeks ago. Looking at the scan really makes me feel like carrying and hugging 小B... (^_^)

As for me, I've has put on 1.9kg so far! This book says that the weight gain by the end of the 1st trimester should range from 2lbs to 4lbs; and that's about 0.9kg to 1.8kg. Well, I'd like to consider myself being on the weight gain track. And I hope to maintain the gradual gain.

小B seems to be still sleeping this morning when we were doing the scan... no movements seen. I wonder if my busy work schedule over the last few weeks has tired 小B out... Being pregnant and working long stressful hours is really not easy. I seriously feel the strain... I'm tired easily and I get headaches now and then. All I pray for is that this doesn't affect 小B's health and growth.

August is gonna be a hectic month as I need to work on a very demanding annual plan. But the consolation is, once that's done, we'd be off for our anniversary trip!! YEAH!! Can't wait...
