{Our Gabrielle}

We came back late last night from a short getaway to Sentosa for Calvin's birthday. Gabby hasn't seen us for 2 full days since we left for Sentosa on Monday morning. She was sleeping soundly when we reached home. So since we're back, we took back all the duties of caring for her from my mom. Calvin fed her during her last feed at 11pm+ last night while I watched her by their side.

She usually sleeps through the feed and wouldn't wake up at all. But last night, she seemed to know that we're back and she wanted to see us! She woke up during the feed and stayed awake throughout. When we put her in bed between us, she was wide awake. And we experienced one of the sweetest precious moments. She just laid quietly between us and she kept turning her head to look at Daddy and then Mommy, and then Daddy and then Mommy. And she was smiling sweetly all the way through. It was a smile that we've never seen before. We can see her happiness oozing out from those beautiful eyes. She was so so happy to see us again after 2 short days. Both Calvin and I were actually very very tired and sleepy. But just looking at her beautiful happy smile, our hearts melted.

Our Gabby loves us! Her love is so pure! Her needs are so simple!

Gabby, Daddy and Mommy loves you so much! Thank you for loving us and thank you for showing us that you love us.

{CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!}

I've always wanted a Christmas tree at home. To me, my home has to be "dolled up" for Christmas. When I was young, my dad made it a tradition to decorate our home for Christmas. It's like an annual project for my dad, my bro and I. Of course, my dad was the chief project director. He would plan out the concept, the designs and who does what. I remember our fireplace project most vividly and I think it's the best ever decor anyone could have. Yes, we constructed our own fireplace in our cosy little 3-room flat! It was the most awesome Christmas project I ever had. We painted styrofoam boards to make them look like brickwalls. We installed flickering lights to create "fire" in the fireplace. We hung socks on the styrofoam "brick" boards for Santa Claus to put our presents in. We had so much fun. And every year, I look forward to Christmas projects with my dad and bro. Even until now, these times hold very special memories for me.

I want the same for Gabby. I want us to have a Christmas family tradition. One day, Calvin asked me when are we getting our Christmas tree and my eyes just lit up!! I was so happy that he initiated it (because he declined my requests to get a Christmas tree for 2 years already :p)

So now, we have a family tradition going. Every year on Calvin's birthday, 3rd Dec, that's when we will go to the nursery to choose a real Christmas tree. Gabby, you're gonna go choose the tree with us next year, ok? Mommy and Daddy want you to love Christmas like we do.

At Far East Flora - our first time at choosing Christmas trees.
