We arrived at HDB Hub at about 4pm on 25 Oct 2006 to complete the transaction for our flat. The procedure is as such: we had to buy fire insurance at the AIG counter, proceed to the HDB officer's room thereafter to sign some documents and then the seller will handover the keys to us. To our astonishment, the AIG guy processed our fire insurance for a 3-room flat instead of a jumbo flat. We brought the mistake to his attention and he checked with his senior but they came back with no answer for the blunder as it was reflected in their system that the flat that we bought is a 3-room flat!! Goodness gracious me!! We paid for 1x 3-room flat and 1x 3.5-room flat! And the fact is that the previous owner already owned the flat as a 2-unit-combined jumbo flat. It should already be reflected in the system as such. By then, it was already almost 4.30pm and the counter will be closed at 5pm sharp... you know how govt offices close on the dot rite?! So we started panicking... the transaction can't be completed without the fire insurance! Our appt with the officer is 4.15pm and we're still in queue to meet her at 4.40pm! Are we gonna have to make another appt to come back to complete the transaction?? Oh man!! Thank God the officer finally called us into her room at 4.50pm and started helping us get things going the right way..
In the midst of this whole saga, God started pouring blessings on us! The many haze-ful and rain-less days came to an end with a mega downpour.. God is good and He is faithful. While we were panicking, He reminded us of His love, His supply and His blessings! Thank You Father!!
Finally after an hour of feeling like we-dunno-if-we-gonna-get-our-keys, the transaction was completed at 5pm and we received the keys to our dream house!! And in 2 months, our dream home will become a reality... I simply can't wait!!! Well right now, it's the start of the hectic period of juggling between work and the renovation. And it doesn't help that it's the year-end annual planning period... oh man!! Thank God for Calvin... he's gonna be the I/C for the reno...
